Who is Michael Slevin?
Good question.
Michael Slevin (but you can call him Mike) is a bright, friendly and really, really ridiculously good-looking young man. Glasgow born and bred, he is always looking for opportunities to develop himself and help others around. He has numerous interests including TV, videogames, drumming, photography, blogging, Guinea pigs and a whole host of others.
With an educational background in Music Business and Communications with Media, Mike has been a journalist for many years, having written about a number of genres for a number of magazines and publications over the years, including The Skinny, Square Go, Gamebrit, Brash Games and Ready Up, where he currently resides as the site’s in-house poet Sonnet The Hedgehog (brilliant name, eh?)
Having attended 2011′s Media Guardian International Television Festival’s The Networking conference event, Mike has made it his goal to work in the TV industry. His ultimate goal would be to be in the creative department of one his favourite shows – Doctor Who, Star Trek and Never Mind The Buzzcocks in particular – but for now he’s happy to help wherever and whenever he can. He’s so far done running and researching placements for Nemo Entertainment, Flame Television and Watchdog/Rogue Traders, with shows such Heir Hunters, Don’t Get Done Get Dome and Sounds from the Cities appearing on BBC One and Channel 4. He has a passion for telly and, in between volunteering for Oxfam Music, is always looking for his next opportunity.
Friendly, professional and personable, Mike is always looking to make new connections and friends and help out wherever he can.
